What is this For?

Background...
5.7L TBI from 94 (maybe 95) Chevy PU...included 4L60E tranny.
Harness 'was' almost complete...cut off at the fuse block and right after the computer (I'm still chasing down a VSS buffer and connector).

All of this is in my 84 CJ

he attached pic of a gray box, apx 2" x 1" that is between the ECM and firewall connector. There is a ckt board inside with two diodes (zener maybe?). A purple wire from it goes over to where the fuse block 'would have been'. It is the only wire I don't have a place for. Anyone have an idea where it should go?

Sorry for being off topic....I know a CJ7 is not an F body....but you guys seem to have the best overall information....not to mention very decent attitudes. I did a lot of searching and found a ton of info...but not what I need in this case.

BTW...any sure fire way to determine exactly what year my combo is out of....The guy I bought it from said 94, but a couple of threads mentioned that the 4L60E did not show up in PU's until 95.

Thanks in advance....

Problem Solved

Figured it out.....
It's related to the brake switch. These diodes allow the computer and cruise control to co-exist.
