HELP!! my lights will not go up!
Hey, I am having a problem with my pop-up headlights. The lights will light up however they will not pop up. Its very strange because if i manually crank them up and then turn them off, they will go down by themselves. I am not sure if the motors are going bad or not because they will go down but they just wont go up. Its not just one light either the same happens for both. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you.

Repair them with the TDS 209280 Deluxe Headlight Repair kit and your problem will be solved.

Until you get them fixed, if you unplug the headlight motor, it will stay up.
Your motors are bad. Everybodies motors go bad at some point. Its part of owning a firebird
Sometimes they'll work, others they'll just sit there.

Timz, did you get them working?
They go UP but do not go down.
Let me just post what i found out.....
*******This is Assuming you know how to use a Volt-Meter*******
Headlights go Up not Down, so I got out my Manual and start looking for the diagram for the headlight motor circuit. I have read alot on this subject here, but have yet came accross this info, so here ya go....
YOU will need a Volt Meter set to DC. Turn On your headlights, Motors on, headlights go up.
Read between the "Black Wire" Common and the "White Wire" on the Motor Control Unit. Have someone shut off the headlights, or do it yourself and see if you get a 12-13vdc reading on these two wires.
This is AT the Motor Control Unit (GUIDE) BOX on Firewall.
Red Wires (2) Should have 12 volts (+) all times!
Black Wire (1) Battery Common (-)
White Wire (1) Applies 12Volts (+) When head lights are Turned OFF. The KEY word here is "OFF". This white wire comes from the HEAD LIGHT SWITCH. This is the the PROBLEM. The HEADLIGHT switch is not sending the Voltage to the (Motor Control Unit) On headlight OFF. Replace the HEAD LIGHT SWITCH! Headlights work Perfect. Yay!
Yellow Wire (1) Applies 12 Volts (+) When Headlights are Turned ON.
I hope this will help you find and fix the issue you may have. I am new to the 3Gen Firebird, as I have had a 78, 79 and 81 Turbo TA. However, I am a Geek, So I do not give up till I find the Problem. Good Luck on those Headlight Issues!

Code,
You started a thread that seemed to have no relevance to anything until I noticed this thread that TiMz89TA had started. I copied the info from that other thread and have added it to your last post in the current thread. I will delete your other thread.
Regards the mod.
If you have any questions feel free to PM me.
