You should have three wires going to the mirror, a red one at pin "1" from the guages fuse (HOT), a black one at pin "2" going to ground (negative), and a light green wire going to pin "D" of the par/neutral switch on the shifter. On the overhead console the orange wire is hot with black being ground, the white wire goes to other systems in the circuit such as the door jamb switches.

i ended up splicing both the green and red wire into the power wire "orange" bc i read that the green wire is a backup wire or something like that so i fig it wouldnt be a big deal if it gets power or not since its secondary
I read that all you really needed was the power (red) and ground hooked up for the mirror to work
is this ok?
thx trickster plz respond again
one of the wires was GREEN GREEN and the other RED they were not light in color and yes i grounded the black on both overhead and mirror (not yelling or being rude just emphasizing)
what i did was ground the overhead and mirror to the roof properly on diff screws and then connected the overhead console and spliced the auto dim mirror into the overhead console hot wire
the light came on that illuminates your distance but the other little green light didnt....i think bc i didnt have headlights turned on doesnt the auto dim only work at night?
