I'm converting my 86 wired car to 87+ distributor setup so I need to convert the wiring as well. Where can I get the parts new? I need the 4 pin connector that goes to the distributor and the large wire (looks like a plug wire) that goes from the coil to the cap.

You can buy a universal coil wire at any parts store. Some stores will have the 4 pin connector too.

Excellent. Basically my engine came with the distributor, but no plugs or coil. Do you think stores sell the whole coil holder with wires or do I have to track that down used?

That would probably be a dealer or junkyard item.

Junkyard probably is the best bet. It'll probably only be a dollar, but be careful because that old plastic is very easy to break if you pull the tab much at all. I'd get two!
