If you need to pass emissions, then you'll need to retain all of your equipment. You could take your chances and hope that you'll tune the motor and it runs clean enough to pass, but it's not worth it. I have a way to get by emissions, so I ripped it all out. Also all the heater and a/c came out. You'll be able to remove your whole engine harness and the ECM. Run wires from the senders on the engine into the passenger compartment to run the gauges. I used all autometers so I didn't have to mess with any of that. Without the factory harness, you'll need to run a heavy gauge wire to power the fuse block. I ran a wire off of the starter through the firewall to the fuse block. I forget which terminal it is, but one wire gets constant 12v from the battery and there's another that is switched by the ignition. Find the pinout for the bulkhead connector in your service manual to find which terminals get 12v.
