i know this may not be the correct place to ask this question but i dont know where to look for helpand i know a fewof you guys have done the swap into your 3rd gens. im installing a dash out of a 96 firebird into my 79 camaro and i need to know how i would go about making the speedo function correctly. if i were to adapt the correct vehicel speed sensor and reluctor ring onto my trans, could i just run the wire/wires into the connector on the back of the instrument cluster. any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

the vss will need to be buffered through the computer. Assuming you are running an LT1, the computer needs to know the vehicle speed also and then relays the information to the gauge cluster. I have the same thing in my car and I can shoot you some diagrams and routing if you need.
