Headlights blinked, now off
a month ago, i caught a patch of ice and slid into a 45* ditch..straight into the fence. my headlights were still working even tho my car was almost buried in snow.
anyway- on new years eve, i was driving as i pulled into my driveway, the lights (brights) shut off right before i put them back to lows. so i clicked back to lows which blinked on then off twice and now i'm still wondering what the deal is.
i figured the switch was bad so (without checking it
) i bought a new one. and that didnt fix anything (tho it was a lot tighter than the old one). so i took it to some ******* in town that was trying to start a garage. he was "100% positive" that it was the turn signal switch. so i bought one ($30), and he connected it and didnt install it. said it didnt fix the problem and told me to take it back. later i looked at it and saw that the tan and green wires (looks like the + on the back of the headlight) arent touching anything on the switch itself and they probably contact something in the steering column. I'd love to just dig into the column but theres the airbag that i dont want to accidentally set off.
anyway- sorry for the long story, but i've given this guy $40 in labor and bought $60 in parts so $100 later i still have no lights. maybe its the ground wire from the headlights, which is where? anyone know which wires on the harness (from the switch to the harness thats on the plastic piece of the the steering linkage).
anything else i can check before i take off the whole dash?
thanks a lot
