Engine: L98 Block Vortec Heads Comp Xtreme
Transmission: Built 700R4
Axle/Gears: 10 bolt with Auburn 3.73 posi unit
regular ignition to hei conversion

is there anything that i should know about this or is it cut and dry

Define 'regular' ignition? Points? Your 1986 should have HEI already.

its an 87 and it has points not hei i have a 350 with an hei and i want to drop it in the 87 but i need to know if there is anything special that i need to do

I guess that would depend on how much of your original car still exists. If the original harness and computer is still there, just plug it all in. If it's not, then you'd probably want one with a vacuum advance, then you've basically just got power to hook to it.
