help with new h4 headlights

I just replaced both sets of headlights with 2 new h4 sets and now when the lights are on high, the low comes on real dim and after a minute or 2 the headlights begin to flash off and on. Is there a headlight relay that needs to be replaced or is there some rewiring to be done so this will work properly? the new lights came with wiring adapters so they were plug and play. help befor they burn up someting and i can drive it at night.

It sounds to me like you got the pinout connector hooked up incorrectly. Check the tech articles headlight upgrade for the proper diagram.

new harness

I ended up replacing the harness for the headlights witha harness from summitt racing and now I am in good shape.
the old harness will not support new H4 bulbs. Too much power draw so i rewired in new harness and now work perfectly and are much brighter.
