Is it just the left or is it 4-ways and right too?
If so, check under the dash for a round, metal or plastic piece about an inch in diameter and 3/4 of an inch thick. This is the "blinker" mechanism and it is most likely a heat/mechanical one. Buy an electric one, and just plug it in where the old one is.
