fogs on 91' GTA don't work
Ok just got done putting new fogs on my 91' GTA, I have had fog lights on the car in about 4yrs. and last I remember they worked, but they don't now. I have already checked the fuse and changed bulbs in it but still nothing is working. The switch inside has a little green light that is suppose to turn on when the come on but that doesn't even work. Any possilities that there is a relay somewhere that may have gone out or maybe even the switch itself is bad? Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve
Thanks,
Steve
I'm guessing either the wires to the switch aren't connected or have a bad connection to the switch or the switch is bad or no power/ground reaching the switch. The switch turns on the fog light relay.

Looking at the schematic, if the relay is bad, then the indicator lamp will not light. The relay, not the switch, controls it.
I hate putting my service manual on the scanner, but here's the schematic.

Well after probing around with my trusty multimeter I think that they won't come on due to the headlight dimmer switch.
Heres what I have done I tested all the electrical connections at the switch to make sure that its getting power, and as according to the schematic the brown wire from the headlight switch and the grey wire from the fuse are getting power and the black ground wire has a good connection (since that is the one I used to help check voltage). I then used a jumper wire to run from the brown wire to the purple wire (power to fog lights), once I turn the headlights on I checked to see if they were working and they are. Then I checked it with the jumper again this time going from the grey wire to purple, turn the headlights on again and they still work.
So the only thing I can come up with is that the dimmer switch that turns the lights off when the highs are on is telling the switch that the highs are on therefore causing the switch not to get power. But hear in lies another problem my highbeam switch on the steering column is broke and I have no way to try and turn the highs off (my high beams haven't worked since I bought the car).So my next question is there a way to bypass the dimmer switch?

Yeah, my fog lights don't work, but the indicator light on the dash does light up when you push it on. So I took off the lenses to check the bulbs and they are burnt out, but it was hard as hell to get the bulbs out of the connection and part of it broke off into the connection because of bad corrosion. I was wondering who sells new connections for these, or if anyone has some off an old car. So it should be the bulbs and the corroded connections.
