remote hatch release

I bought a used remote hatch release from a guy on eBay and installed it in my manual everything car. So I start running wire and cut the hole for the switch then I stumble across a 2 wires yellow and orange!! Is this the wiring needed for my remote hatch to work? My friend with an 89 said all models are equipped with remote hatch capability. Is this true, did I waste 2 hours?

The wiring is most likey there.. It's in my all manual car too. However, the manual latch assembly will need to be changed to an assembly with the electric cylinoid.

It should just plug in if you got everything, you need the relay for it to work which goes under the center console.

I have the switch and I have the solenoid attached to the rear hatch. Where can I find a electrical diagram for this circuit?

There is a little silver box that goes under the center console, do you have that? It should have the plugs to make it work, try this http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBr...3d801eef19.jsp

the autozone diagrams don't have a drawing for the hatch. Back by the hatch what color wire does the solenoid hook up to?

Not so sure about the wiring under the dash, but the wire on the remote hatch release itself is a black pigtail, if it's there, just finished wiring mine up tonight. The release itself is self grounding. Wired up a momentary pushbutton with no problems.

OK, I was going to show pics couldn't find my camera so I will do my best to describe it. Under the center console you should find a set of brown and orange wires with a female plug at the end. You will need the relay housing, on one end of the housing is a set of a yellow and orange wires that has a male plug, which plugs into the female under the console, out of the relay housing is another set of wires orange and brown that plugs into the switch. Now the relay is small and black and I got the # 329820 off of it. I hope this helps.
