how to get electric windows up
i know this may be a stupid question but i am pulling the enigne out of my car and took the battery out and so own and so forth. basically i got it torn down all the way so the last thing to do is unbolt the engine mounts and yank the motor and trans out. well anyway i noticed today that my windows are down and i go and hook up the battery and nothing happenes. the all of a sudden a hear this crazy whinging/grinding sound. i guess some wires from the starter had found a connection or whatever and it started to run and it started smokeing and eventually it died
. well anyway how is it possible to get my windows back up. is their a way to do it by hand. there was no interior stuff on when the battery was hooked up i.e. dome lights. but the battery still had power of course because the starter came on.

If the door panels are removed you could run a 12VDC power source to the window motors.

yea the panels are removed. the car is pretty much completely stripped for paint. so what do i do just unhook the wires at the window motor (is their some type of connection their) and put it to the battery and then use the switch to roll it up? it wouldnt be that big of a deal but im having it towed to school so i can get to working on the body and paint while ill have the motor here at the house working on it.
