Can't find VSS buffer

My '92 Camaro RS (V-6) has a non-working speedometer (the tach also is funky, giving much higher than realistic readings - 2K @ idle, for instance). I have replaced the speed sensor in the transmission, and even have switched out a couple of instrument clusters, but still no change from zero. After reading a thread here, I have attempted to locate the VSS buffer, (here on this site described and pictured in yellow), but can't seem to locate it anywhere under or near the passenger-side ECM area. There is another yellow module near the hood release, but it's labeled as part of the SIR (?). Suggestions are welcomed. Thanks!
