Hood light
How does the hood light know when to go on and off? I've been tryn to fiquire it out for a couple of days. Sorry for the dumb question, but I just don't know

Axle/Gears: They are round, I know that much
there is a switch that looks like a nail going into the radiator core support (usually) or some where along the ouline of where the hood meets the body. Some older cars, I don't think 3rd Gens, came with a mercury switch, which is a vile filled with mercury and when it is at the right angle the mercury closes the contact putting the light on.

Well I guess it's the mercury kind. I put a bulb in there and when I lower the hood i can see the light go out before it's even close to being shut.
