lt1 swap aternator idiot light

I put an 95 lt1 into a 87 firebird, and need help with the alternator idiot light wiring. On the alternator connector it is labled S-F-L-P, I put a swiched 12 volt feed into the F (field terminal) to get the alternator to charge with out using the external resistor. Now can I take the original feed from the 87 firebird alternator idiot light and put it to the L (light terminal) to get the idiot light to work properly?
