need help asap

i have a serious vats problem here well frist off the car wouldnt even crank nothing when i turn the key it was dead i soo found out later the the theft relay was missing the one behind the drivers side kick panel so i put that and still nothing but a solid secruity ligth the light wont go off and nether will the service engine light i later found out from the previous owner that he had chaged the the key barrell and that came out of a 1992 rs and i have a 90 gta i diid some searching on this and what i came up with was the the peellet in the key probly does not send the same resistance to the vats modual know heres is my quest i have a key barrell and a vats moudle (pass key box) out of and 89 gta i was wondering if i put the key barrarel and the pass key box into my 90 would it make a diffrence please i need some help here i have to get my car mobile.

You could try different resistance values in place of the key pellet. You could also change both the VATS module and lock cylinder as you describe, but it might be easier just to find the correct pellet resistance and have the key cut on the proper blank (about $14 at a locksmith, $30+ at a dealer).
