help me lonsal my hatch is junk

Well when i first got my iroc the hatch was stuck all the way up and would lock but never pull down so i figured the motor was blown since it never made any noise. But then one of my friends with a thirdgen realized the relay was missing i had a bag of parts from the last owner and there it was so we pluged it in and the motor keep going and never stoped so we unpluged the relay and he said my worm gear was missing teeth so i took apart the hatch assembly to find out the worm gear was indeed messed up so i replaced it. Went to test everything out and closed the hatch and perfect that hatch locked and closed nice in even i popped the hatch and the assembly stayed down and never moved up in the motor makes no noise. the light in the hatch stoped working and the black cables used to spark when it touched my ratchet now they dont. So i figured it was a fuse for that problem all the fuses were not blown so i am clueless on what is the problem with that. Besides that i figured the assembly never came back up because the reverse switch was not connected but it was. Can you tell me why the light stoped working and the assembly wont go back up???

It could be a reversing switch or striker-sensing switch problem. I'm more inclined to think it is the striker-sensing switch. The light is supposed to come on when the striker-sensing switch opens. Yours isn't. Reach down inside and fiddle with the striker-sensing switch. It is a small black plastic paddle that is just in front of and to the left of the latch as you are looking at the pull-down unit from the rear of the car. Don't confuse it with the black spring-loaded centering piece on the right side in front of the latch. If you can fiddle with it and it goes up, then replace the switch either with another used one or get a new one from me.
