whos done the headlight harness mod found in thr tech articles

I need some input from those of you that have done the headlight harness upgrade found in the tech artictles section of this site. First off, how good is that setup and how well does it work over the stock setup? what effect will it have on my foglights? I would like to rip out all the OEM wiring and start fresh with a new harness. It looks like there are 2 signal wires that must be wired into the headlight switch to trigger the low and high beams. is this true and if so what wires in the switch do they connect to?

Could there be another method of rewiring the 4 headlight system that may be better then the one in the tech article? I basically just want to start over with new wires and new bulbs that are much better then stock.

I used the APC harness and it works really well. If you want to use it as just plug and play you should keep the stock wiring in place and plug it into a low beam socket. The new harness will draw its power directly from the battery and use the hi/low beam original circuit to trigger its own relays. The only problems I've ran into are that first I had to re-prong the harness (very easy fix, just swap a few prongs) and when I turn my lights on it starts off in hi-beams for some reason. I have to hit my hi-beams on and then back off to get it to go to low beams. I'm guessing it's a relay problem but I'm not sure why the relays would be working like that.

As for the lights I upgraded it with I used the prostreet ones but then I saw everyone talking about how cheap they are. I think I'm starting to agree, plus there is like no cutoff for the beam and it spreads all over the place. I've heard that eurolites are really good but I don't know where to find them. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I just got to figure out what wires on the headlight switch will be hooked up to the new harness once I make it. I just gotta but some new headlight connectors and a some wire. This is actaully on the back burner kinda. I have to rewire my fuel pump circuit with a new relay befor I do anything. Im almost thinkng of rewiring the entire headlight circuit along with the fuel pump and fan circuits all at the same time. I just gotta get the parts Ineed to do this along with a frew wiring diagrams first. If I have a problem I will let you know.
