H4 Coversions....
Hi,
Im having some issues with the lenses themselves. I have cracked three light assembles since the conversion. My first light was an Eurolite AngelEye and using the bulbs that came with the lights. Initially I figured it was impact related even though there were no marks. Replaced it with another Eurolite assembly again with the supplied bulbs. Was washing the car off one night after a good drive and the second the watewr touched the lense it cracked. Ok I figured its heat related and installed a 3rd lense but tossed out the supplied bulbs and installed a set of PIAA Extreme Whites figuring a quality bulb would some how produce less heat. Wrong lol. Cracked another one last night. No impact...no water or moisture...just cracked. Anybody else having these issues? Is there a better quality assembly that is still clear ((diamond cut))? Starting to consider a full HID setup as HIDs produce considerbly less heat. Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I have no experience with that brand, but I'd expect it to be made in China.. If a bulb just has a filter to make it appear having whiter lighty then this'll actually make it hotter.. Never heard of any probs with Bosch or such brands H4 lamps. Please observe that a full HID setup must include an attitude sensor that controls the levelling of the lamps, plus high pressure lens washers..

I don't know personally (yet) but I hear that the Pilot conversion kit is a good one. It has the extra inner reflector that goes over the bulb to reflect the light better. Another suggestion I have is to just go buy the Silverstar stock wattage bulbs. Although stock wattage, the Silverstars are alot brighter than most stock wattage bulbs. Also, try using the 9003 instead of the H4 bulbs. The H4 bulbs are actually designed for motorcycles and burn a little hotter than the 9003, which are exact replacements.
