HELP

Hey all New to the forum. I have a problem i cnat seem to get around. I have a 91 Z28. the VATS went bad on it and the guy i bought it from jerryrigged it to work. His fix failed and almost set the car on fire. Anyhow I was able to bypass the VATS but have not been able to get the car to turn over without rubbing the wire that used to be hooked up to the anti theft ignition cylinder to a ground. Does anyone know how to get around that? Or does anyone have a working VATS factory ignition cylinder with the pellet key all from the same car? Any help will be much apperciated. Thanks Ps didnt mention this but it doesnt have the orginal igniton cylinder or key.

hi, my buddy has an 89 iroc, his vats was messing up (worn pellet in key) so he tried everything to bypass it.....just a big mess. he ended up going to the chevy dealer and having it fixed.. they put in a new ignition and gave him a new key, cost 230$..but well worth not playing the geussing game 10 minutes before work. hahaha.. just get a new igniton... its the best way.
