ok so my choke never worked.... when i woul push the pedal the weighted pice by the choke would snap up and close the choke and rev the engine, like it should on a cold morning. well it wont ever go down, even after running for an hour...lol... then i found the choke wire was disconnected, but when i hooked it up, the choke light stays on and there is a buzzing noise from inside the dash.. im stumbled... so as of now it is wired open... so if anyone knows whats the deal please help me..lol thanks -Matt

The "choke" light on my '84 is an indicator of an electrical problem, usually a blown fuse or a short in the system. Check for 12V at the choke connector first, then see if that wire is shorted to ground.

BTW - there was a thread on TGO within the last week or so on the choke light problem that has a lot of good info there.
