install hatch relase??
ok i am trying to install a hatch relase in my 1986 camaro with a power pull downi have the switch and the relay from a just car witch where by the pull down in a 87 camaro for the yeard but i dont no if that is aww i nead and how to hook it up?

You need switch, relay, solenoid release and ground wire. The solenoid bolts in place of the manual hatch release. The black wire that connects to the solenoid is +12 v from the switch and relay (go figure the logic in using black for positive). You'll need to run a ground wire from the 10mm screw (that attaches the solnoid to the hatch pull-down unit) to the ground location on the body below the pull-down unit. Adding the ground is important because the solenoid is electrically isolated from ground by the nylon guides.

You need to hook up a ground from the relay to the parking brake too, but I'm sure you can figure that out from the wiring diagram in the 1986 Camaro Service Manual.
