Up until a few months ago, I had kept my 87 trans am garaged. Then in August I brought my car down with me to college, and have since been parking it outside...I realized too late that the weatherstripping needs replacing--after a few times in the rain, some of the electronics started acting up...among other things, the speedometer, stereo system, internal lights, and side-view mirrors don't work at all...about the only thing that does work is (thankfully) the fuel indicator...Other than that, the car does run, but it'd be nice to be able to tell how fast i'm going and to listen to some music while driving..
I'm a newbie when it comes to cars, I know a little terminology, but don't really know much about fixing them beyond changing a battery..I've been considering bringing it to a shop, but i'm a poor college student, and was hoping i could maybe fix this on my own. Does anyone have any suggestions or have any idea what happened to cause these electronics to stop working? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
