fuel pump fuse melted, slot it goes into.

what would make the fuel pump fuse melt instead of blow, and it got so hot it melted the fuse box where it goes in? it must have done this the last time had it fired up,or while it was sitting that was 3 weeks ago.i found the problem while trying to start it yesterday.

thats a rare problem, but its not unheard of.
a bad connection on the melted leg of the fuse is what causes it.
you'll need to replace that connector in the fuse box on the melted side.
if the box is damaged too badly to properly hold the replacement connector, you can move that fuse to an unused location. if you don't have a unused spot in the box, you can pull the box down & splice in a replacement fuse holder. its best to solder the wires if possible.

you may want to pull each of your other fuses & check them for corrosion & signs of over heating.

no problem.
if it was an actual short, the fuse would pop right away.
good luck
