Power lock issue

If anyone could help me with this I would be a very happy person. I am installing an alarm and keyless entry system in my 1991 Camaro RS. I have to tie into the power lock control module and I'm unsure of where it is. Can anyone tell me the location of the module. I've been told a few different things. Thanks.

It’s behind the left lower dash area near the door grommet.

That's correct, or it could be behind the left kick panel (is on mine).

One thing to watch out for. The door lock relay uses a positive trigger (12V will lock or unlock the car) while many alarms use a negative trigger (they send a grounding signal to lock or unlock the doors). Make sure your alarm puts out the positive trigger for door locks otherwise you'll be seeing blown fuses.

I had to hack into my new alarm and modify it to put out positive trigger signal.

Hope this helps any.

IF you need to reverse polarity as mentioned above, there is an easier way than hacking into anything - simply use a relay. You can have a negative signal complete a circuit that activates the relay and sends a positive signal to your door lock actuator.
