All righty then, who can identify this unconnected plug for me? I found this when I started phase 1 of the restoration. Is this supposed to be unconnected? Man there is a lot of wires under that dash. Thanks

That looks like the connector for the power antenna relay. If your car has a fixed antenna this won't be connected to anything and you'll probably find a few more unused connectors. My car had the fog lamp switch connector though my car didn't have them. I think GM used just one harness no matter what equipment the cars had.

Difficult to tell from that picture, connector is not very clear. How many wires go into that connector and what colour are they?
Lots of components are mounted in that area. Could be for a power antenna relay.

Thanks MurcoRS and fastcars for the reply. You are right fastcars, the pictur isnt really worth a diddly. There are three wires red, white, and purple into the black connector. I shot it this morning and by the time I posted it I forgot what I was focusing in on. Seems too far away for the power antenna but would make sense as I have the solid fixed mast.

Hmmm, did you try measuring voltage on these wires with the key off, on and radio on etc? If they are thick wires, I would suspect something else besides an antenna.

I looked at the schematics and noticed a white used in three different circuits: hazard lights, wiper module and courtesy lights.

I'd say measure voltage on the wires under different conditions, that'd tell us more.
