question involving lt1 swap
question involving lt1 swap
i bought a 88 iroc with a 95 lt1 motor from a regular caprice swapped into it. it runs great but the guy that swapped it sent the computer out to be tuned so now it run extremelly rich, and being connecticut i need to get it emissions tested and it fails big time. and connecticut has nice cameras in all teh test facilities so buying a pass is next to impossible. what i was wondering is, is there any reason why the connectors to the ecm from the wiring harness would use different pin locations from a regular lt1 caprice to a police package. cause i bought another stock lt1 computer out of a police car to try to run it through the test with stock settings, but i just tried to install it and now the car starts but dies after about 3-5 seconds. i looked at the red connector that came with the stock computer and one of the pins is in a different number hole than on the red connector that is in the car. i havent checked the others yet. would there be a difference between the police package and the street caprice? or am i looking at it coming from a different engine. cause obviously if the computer is looking to recieve or send signals to a wire that is not connected to the right pin, its not going to work. sorry for being long winded. just trying to get all the facts the first time. thanks in advance to any help i can get

Re: question involving lt1 swap
The dieing is because of VATS. The other PCM has not had it programmed out.
