Some Speedo Questions
Hey I have a 1987 Trans am with an 85 mph speedo. Does anyone know if an 85 mph speedo was available in the trans am in 1987? Also, does anyone know if it would be electronically or mechanically driven? I'd check myself but i broke my leg and can't get out to the garage.
I was thinking of swapping in a 145 mph speedo but don't know how to go about certifying the mileage etc so the car doesn't look like i messed with the mileage. Does anyone know how to have it certified? I appreciate your help guys

Re: Some Speedo Questions
I believe the 87 Trans Ams already had the electronic speed sensor (VSS).
As for the odometer reading, you can adjust it on the new cluster to match the old one and that way it will be fine.
After 10 years, cars are considered exempt from mileage records and nobody cares anymore.
