Ibuy it from? Thank you. need to bypass the vats and need a resistor with exactly 2.370 ohms resistance... any idea where to

radio shack, possibly a Fry's if you have them in your area.

actually you do not need to match that resistor exactly, GM designed the system to look for a resistance within a certain range.
your range is 2275 to 2485 ohms of resistance. so if you can't find a resistor that is exactly right you do not need to worry. just as long as it is within the accepted range.

I was a little bored at work this morning so I measured up a few resistors In series/parallel and came up with an equivalent resistor of 2365 +/- 5 ohms.
PM your Address and I'll mail it to you.
Also you will need to unplug the 2-pin connector on the bottom of the steering wheel and solder this resistor to connector going to the computer (not to the steering wheel).
Good Luck

Thank you guys, you are good... I finally went to radioshack and purchase a 2.2k and a 150 ohm resistors and lined them up. I opened the steering wheel ( I had to change the key cylinder last week and that is how the vats got screwed up) and cut the wires going to the cylender and connected them together through the resistors and thanks God the camaro fired..
Thank you ringo for the offer, I saw your messege too late or it could've saved me a long walk to the store.
Few weeks back I was far away from home, I got into the car and tried to turn the key, it turned halfway and got stuck, wouldt turn enought either way to ignite, nor to off position so I could get the key out. Finally, I got a plier and forced it to ignite. At least I got back home.... I ordered the key cylinder from ebay for $54 plus $14 vats key. While I was installing the cylinder the wires coming from the cylinder got screwd up somehow so I had to get rid of the vats or buy a new cylinder...
