The white overlays did not ruin the gages, the dummy who removed the gage needles did. You may have to change the needle position to salvage the mistake and see if that helps.

big mistake on your part..."MOST" of them come with directions and if you read them it will tell you that you do NOT need to remove the needles to install the overlays. So you obviously didn't read the directions or bought a really cheap set that didn't have directions and you removed the needles and did not put them back in the same position.

this instructions clearly state remove 4 screws and carefully mark where the location of the guage needle is so i did and i replaced the needle in the same spot and it fluxed when car started but will not respond after that when i shut car off it resets itself back to the off position but will not respond to a accurate temp

Re: WHITE FACE GUAGES RUINED MY INS CLUSTER!

yep same thing happened to me i got mine from hawks third gen. the instructions say remove needals. i just rplaced the whole dash the white faced gauges looked like crap and where way over priced for stripps of vinal. but the needals did reset on my dash. check the sensor on the drivers side under the manifolds to see if it is still intact. if it is i'd be on the search for a new dash or i could sell you one of mine i have an extra dash that the gauges work you just unscrew every thing and peel back the black coating and pull strait out all four of the center gauges will unplug and you can stick in a new one.
