Connecting a manual fan switch...
I've installed a "probe-in" fan switch with adjustable dial so my fan will come on a little sooner than the stock fan switch. I live in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth area and it gets pretty hot fighting traffic.
My problem is that right now the switch is wired directly to the battery thus allowing the fan to run after I've shut the car off. Also, it is mounted to the radiator support next to the battery. I'd prefer it be wired to something that only has power while the key is turned to run position. Any suggestions?

Re: Connecting a manual fan switch...
If it is possible:
That is just a temp operated switch correct?
If so, use it so switch a ground to your fan relay.
You are looking for the last relay towards the drivers side. The wire you want to ground is a green wire with a white stripe.

Yes, the switch is temp operarated. I was thinking of doing that but, I wasn't sure where in the engine bay the relay was.

Don't mean to steal the thread just need a ? answered.
I tried grounding the wire with the car running and the fan did not come on. Does that mean the realy is bad?
The fans would come on after the right temp was reached only if I shut the car off and then started it back up. I don't drive the car on the road yet but I took it for a spin and when I got back the temp was 220 and no fans. I shut the car off and started it back and this time the fans did not come on. I've direct wired the fan and it does work. What does this tell you?

I would suspect the relay. See if physically hitting the relay will do anything when it is supposed to be on but is not on.
