How do i hook up the Heat?

Hello, Just wanted to know what all parts consist of for the heating system, I'm not sure what's there or whats missing if anything, I know that the last owner put a 350 engine in and took out the ac cylinder but the rest a/c seems to be there?? , The heat buttons and stuff are all there just nothing happens when u turn it on.

So what should I look for for making the heat work, I don't really need the a/c working just heat for winter.

Just replaced my rubber seals around the side mirrors, due to wind blowing through them when you had the window all the way up while driving, The olds ones were really bad, better check yours soon

Take a look at this thread in the Cooling board for an electrical wiring diagram. You can also search that board for the vacuum diagrams for controlling the air flow.

This isn't the best scan, but it will give you an idea of what's involved electrically.

Re: How do i hook up the Heat?

There is no vacuum to the heater controls. Defrost is the default setting. There should be a small hard line that goes through the firewall behind the pass. side head.

It is tubing, a small vacuum line. It should come from the intake, mine splits and goes to the cruise control also.

Yes, it is a vaccum line that starts at the vaccum tank, located just to the left of the brake booster. The line runs along the firewall behind the dist and then combines with an wire harness that goes throung the firewall behind the pass. side head. Take a look at thses diagrams and as I suggested before visit the COOLING board and SEARCH for "vacuum schematics" for some better diagrams of how the vacuum is connected to the heat and A/C air flow diagrams.
