Thinking about replaceing the Whole Digital Dash
Just as the title says
I have been thinking about it for sometime, I was thinking about using an Iroc Dash.
How much work would it be to change over to the Needle dash set? Its really just a thought, but i wanted to see what everyone else would think about this set up.
BTW its an 85 Berlinetta

Re: Thinking about replaceing the Whole Digital Dash
You will need everything from the "regular" Camaro interior to make it work right. Dash Housing, Center console, Steering Column, Internal Heater box, ect. If you retain the original Engine harness you will need to (at the minimum) need to splice the Wiper Wiring and add the Speedo Cable from the IROC. You should alo replace the body & Tail light harness unless you don't mind Splicing the mismatched wires.
It's not impossible,.... I've done the conversion myself on an 85 LG4 Berlinetta to 86 LG4 Z28 set-up. Your best option is to have a complete donor car so you have everything that you will need. Since your car is a V6 MPFI than your BEST option is to use a Camaro Coupe with a V6 MPFI so the wiring is as similar as possible.

I don't even have the Cash to even try it... Tho it does sound easy now that you say that

Might look for a Non Digital Dash Berlinetta (know there are some out there)
Sounds easy, but could be a PITA.
Any more Information that you can spare?

No it works
I think the speed is wrong tho..
I can tell i am going faster then it reads. Plus on the good side, if i switch it over i don't gotta worry about it going out and not being able to drive it (which atm i can't cause of money problems and the Gas prices... Killer)
also had to put my cooling fan on a toggle switch for it to work... its got some work that needs done. But i thought i would see if it would be worth it in the long run.

Find one of those radar signs !
Mine is dead nuts accurate.
If yours is off somebody probably changed the rear end gearing or tire size.
