Power Door Swapping
Power Door Swapping
Ok, ive been looking for a post like this for a while and just cant find it. i have a 91 camaro RS 3.1l V6 thats pretty much spent. Had a few people look at it, replaced a ton of stuff and im just fed up with it. Thankfully my buddy is selling me his identical car only it doesent have power door locks or windows. Just wondering, since i know a lot of newer cars have it, does the 91 camaro RS have the wiring harness for power window/locks even if doesent have them? Because im intrested in swapping his doors to power lock/window. I know thats worded kinda funny but thats the only way i could think of saying it. Thanks for your help.

Re: Power Door Swapping
My car came with no power.at all. I added locks, windows, hatch. The harness for the locks/windows is not there, but theres a plug under the dash where it does. So you pull the harness out of the donor car, and plug it in and wire it up inside the car. I had to also buy the lock actuators, window motors and actuators, and rivet them in too. All works perfect and looks 100% factory. The hatch button is even easier, you get the relay, actuator, and button and plug the relay in under the console, plug in the button and install the actuator in the truck. Do not swap doors, i dont recommend you ever take off your doors, they'll never fit right again. I used this site to help me do all of it:
