No spark, no voltage to coil...

I am not getting spark. Haynes manual said to check the batt. terminal at coil with test light. It didn't say exactly where the hell it was but I tested all 4 connecters to coil with key on & no juice. So it says if that is the case then there is an open circuit in the ignition primary wiring leading to dist. Now I have to check wiring continuity back to ignition switch using test light (which I really have no idea how to do). Can anyone please explain a little better how exactly I am to do this? Any help greatly appreciated. Forgive my ignorance. Thanx!

I would say just replace the ignition module in the distributor.

i had no spark as well whe i got my car but i did not use test lights i just made life easy and replaced the distributor. i hat the module tested and it wa good. but the reason i was not getting a spark was because the pick ups had rist build up on them. maybe the cap leaked do not know.. i suggest start with the distributor, the rotor and cap, wires then plugs and if your going that far do the ignition coil too. but your pickups are probally bad

Replaced dist. & no help. I didn't think it would on account that the problem is before the distributor (no voltage @ batt. terminal to coil). I have a horrible feeling it must be the computer.

Have you checked all fuses and fusible links? Anything else not have power? I think the coil gets it's power from the ignition switch.

It does. The ICM only switches a ground, so replacing that wont have any effect on the power reading.

FYI the large pink wire is the wire with +12v for the coil.
