Re: HELP!!!! My hatch will not latch!
ok i just fixed my trunk latch assembly (pull down). I HAD THE SAME SENARIO AS YOU.
ok GET a volt meter. find all your power sources.... The motor is a Blue wire and also the reverse cycle (or down motion the power is wire is brown)
at the very top of the latch (actual locking mechanism) there should be a lever to turn the interior lights on and off. That also Activates the motor.
Your relay box (little black box to the left of the entire assembly) SHOULD NOT be making a heavy clicking noise every time you press the light switch/motor switch.
ok now after all of the troubleshooting...if it doesnt work then take your motor completely off of the assembly.
get ahold of some wire that you can hook a positive and a neg to your car battery.
take the opposite ends with your hands and put then on the contacts of the motor.
the motor should elevate to the "open" position.
once in the open position replace motor on to assembly.
and your done.
sorry for grammatical or spelling errors.... going on a beer run now

Ok you can move your unit up. Take a 1/2" socket and loosen the 2 big bolts, 1 on each side of the hatch motor assembly. then slide the whole assembly up and tighten the bolts. shut you hatch and it should catch manually and you can unlock it with a key.
