Fan switch Wire
Hi Everybody,
(I didnt know if this post was supposed to be in the 'Cooling' thread but I figured its more to do with wiring / electronic so here goes
I'm trying to locate the Fan switch wire that connects to the switch on the passenger head, It appears to have become disconnected and fallen somewhere or maybe it was cut / burnt, etc or has travelled to the twilight ? I've looked everywhere under the hood for a loose connector and no luck !! :/
Could anybody advise me where I could trace it (i.e through harnesses, relays, etc ) - Please help!!
Nick

Re: Fan switch Wire
I've got a 91 Shop manual and for the V8 'E" engine code ( TBI ) they show the sensor wire to be Dark Green and White stripped. This is the wire leading to the "Coolant Fan Switch".
I can't tell you what harness to look for it in - I would assume it's got to be there somewhere unless someone previously moved it !

Re: Fan switch Wire
thanks John in RI,
I'll have a good look - Previous owner probably did something or connector has broken...I agree - Unless it was cut it has to be there!!!

Re: Fan switch Wire
can't see it from up top, you need to crawl underneath with the car on jacks/ramps. It's in the passenger head inbetween the 6th and 8th spark plug i believe. Original switch was a 22mm head, single plug that you must pinch to pull off. New one i just picked up is a 20mm head. Don't know how much help that is.
