Electrical problem...
Well it was a long and anoying winter. I finally got around to firing up the transam. Sure enough the battery was dead so I put a charge on it, kicked it over and she started. After about 5 minutes of running I heard a snap near the battery and sure enough a wire that I am guessing is about 12 guage literally got so hot that it melted the shielding right off the wire. I am going to need to replace that wire for sure. I am assuming its the wire coming from the alternator to the battery but it runs in a real weird way. Anyone have the wiring diagram for this wire or for the electrical charging circuit so I know how to trace it back to make sure that this is the wire. I plan on upgrading it to 4 guage if possible when I make the required repairs

Re: Electrical problem...
could just run your own wire of a bit heavier gauge however you like, just goes to the port on the side of the alternator.
