FYI on Hatch Pull-Down
FYI on Hatch Pull-Down
After testing everything and coming to the conclusion that everything going to the hatch pull-down was working properly, I pulled off the switch that is attached to the motor to determine when the trunk is up or down. I learned the following:
Once this was done, the pull-down worked flawlessly. If anybody else has similar issues, use a continuity tester to find out if there is a position on the switch where a pin going to the motor is not connected anywhere; if so you either need a new switch, or you could do what I did. Hopefully it doesn't fall apart on me....
- There are four pins going in to the switch
- There are two pins coming out from the switch to the motor
- In both positions, you SHOULD have a connection between ONE of the pins going to the motor and ONE of the pins going out of that switch
- Corrosion inside switches suck
