No spark...Change everything at least twice!
89 T/A TPI 5.7 automatic. Installed this engine out of a 90 IROC Z. which i drove home. I used the factory MAF set up. The only sensor i read that i had to change was the knock sensor as they are different from the speed density to the maf. i had to lift up the distributor and rotate it as the wires would not reach. but i did make sure that the number 1 spark plug was on the compression stroke and when i did drop the distributer that the rotor bug was facing the number one plug. I got this thing to run twice for about 1 min both times ran rough. after it dies it will not start up. It cranks over just find i hear the fuel pump i smell the fuel from the exhaust. There is no spark coming from the coil. change coil(twice),rotor bug, cap, module, electronic spark control and the Ecm as well with no results.
Tested for voltage at the coil getting 12v but sometimes it reads neg 12 volts on my ohm meter.
