Serpentine Alternator Swap Wiring Question -Need HELP- Pictures included

Hey guys,

I've done alot of searching on the site but nothing I came up with looks even remotely like what I have. Could any of you who have done the serpentine swap from an earlier (82-86) car to one of the newers (88 and up) please take a look and let me know how I should procede? I've got one plug with a black wire that plugs into the alternator. From that I have a red wire that plugs strait into what I assume is where the "red" lead from the battery goes. Then I have what looks to be a ground strap with a sort of tan/brown colored wire and a black wire that mounts to a bolt on the back of the alternator.

The new alternator that I have has a 4-pin connector with one of the pins (far left) that is fatter than the others. Also, I have purchased the new ACDELCO connector for the new alternator, I just need to know how to splice it in.

Both ground point and power connector...

The power connector

And the ground connector on it's own. Here you can see both different colored wires fairly clearly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've completed the swap you mention on my 85 IROC (I assume the wiring between our vehicles is the same). I simply followed the info in the following link:

It talks about the brown wire (for the gen warning) on the two-wire connector that plugs onto the alternator. Is that the connector that I am showing with the black and red-wire coming off of it? Or is it the other one I'm holding with the two wires, one tan/brown and one black (i think), what end in the terminal lug? Also, I also have the power gauge, the one that shows the alternator or battery charge. That the same brown wire they are talking about that if it's not hooked up it won't charge properly?

The two-wire connector in the second pic, IIRC, are the wires that I used. No idea about the ring termal business.

Ok, I"ll just leave those as-is then and work with the actual "connector" wires. I just have a problem when some one calls a wire "brown" when it's not. lol Thanks again James, I know you've answered these questions alot for me but I really appreciate it.
