Wanting to Add Aftermarket Speedomter in '87
Hi Guys,
I have done extensive work on my '87 2.8L MPFI with automatic, and now it is time for the instrument gauges. I want to go with an aftermarket Speedometer such as the Autometer brand, but I am worried and hesitant on which type to purchase. My problem/concern is having to connect the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) to the new speedometer. Am I right to assume the transmission will not function properly without it being connected?
What exact kind of speedometer out there will allow me to connect up the speedometer cable and still have an electrical connection in the back to connect the VSS to it, or what do I have to purchase?
