I recently purchased a beater 91 305 tbi. It has been used and abused to the point of neglect and being the camaro lover I have been for 20 + years I picked it up for the tidy sum of 800.00 (and I think that may have been a bit much) I have searched through this forum to see if my question has been answered and it sort of has but sort of hasn't as it seems that either the question involved is about a Denso guage cluster or it for a 305 tpi firebird. I do not know if they put the same pieces in both cars thus My questions come into play.

My volt meter works (reads a bit high im guessing as its over 13 but not in the red area) the gas guage is accurate from what I can tell. My oil pressure guage reads but I do not think is accurate (it starts at 30 psi then drops down to just past the red zone after the car heats up and sometimes even to zero at a light but I dont hear an oil starved engine or any ticking issues) My tach jumps to 7 grand when I start the car and stays there, the speedo sometimes works but is not accurate (best approx is its 5-7 mph off according to my wife who was driving at 60 while it read 53-55 on my speedo) The cruise control is non functional even when the speedo is working. What I need to know is what should i be looking for when trying to find/fix these problems. I am somewhat mechanicly inclined but to be honest with you I am not a wiring expert. I can use a volt meter but have never tried to use one to test restistance and what not.

I am sorry my first post here is a plea for help, and further apologize if these questions have been answered in detail somewhere and I just didn't search the correct keyword/keywords. If this is the case can someone kindly point me in the correct post direction and I'll gladly read for myself and see what I can do.
