i have an 86 z28 and i'm having some start up problems.. heres the prob if my car sits for about a day or two it wont turn on unless i get curent from another car to my battery.. i took it to autozone they checked my battery they said it was fine checked my alternator and said it was fine.. now i have no idea wat it could be. its weird one day it will be fine but if it sits for a couple days i get no power and it wont turn on it seems like my battery is getting sapped. ne ideas??

 

Something must be shorted allowing current to flow even if the car is turned off. Kind of like leaving the lights on, only it must be something else or you would have noticed the lights being left on.

To test this theory you could disconnect the battery when letting it sit for a couple of days and if it still won't start then the battery is bad no matter what Autozone says. On the other hand if the car starts then the theory I stated above is correct and you will need to figure out what is causing the drain on the battery.

 

the only thing i can think of is something being left on in the car or something not wired right and drawing current thus running the battery down over a couple of days

and i forgot to mention the battery is about a month new so im thinking theres a short somewhere causing my battery to drain
