86 Hatch pulldown not stopping.

Well, I had a problem where my hatch pulldown decided to never stop running. The hatch would pulldown, then the motor would keep running.

I was at a concert at the time, unplugged it, and forgot about it.

I've now decided to try and get it working, but I cant seem to figure out where a wire goes. Its the loose white wire in the center of the picture.

Tips on where it goes?

If your pull-down unit just runs without stopping the gear nut is badI sell it as TDS p/n 109111, $7.95.

That white wire isn't plugged into anything on your year of F-body. It was used on 1990-91 model years to turn on and off the rear hatch light. For those model years it plugged into a black with orange stripe wire.

Re: 86 Hatch pulldown not stopping.

odd question.

Today while washing my car I heard a "humming" noise coming from the hatch area.

Sounded kind of like the pull down was running by itself again.

Well, it wasn't. I popped the hatch, and could hear some kind of buzzing/humming coming from the actual hatch. Appeared to be coming from the back driver side of the hatch. As far as I know there isn't anything in the hatch that can sound like an electric motor.....

Am I just going crazy?

Re: 86 Hatch pulldown not stopping.

I have messed with my 87 iroc hatch motor and buddies 87 formula motor many a times and almost always have an extra wire back there.
Just match everything you can and if you have issues after that let me know and I'll get a video or something.

And you may very well be going crazy lol. Also you may have bees or something in your trunk
