Back up Fuel pump switch blowing FP fuse on fender.
For a 1001 reason even though my new ECM fixed most everything I wanted to keep my back up fuel pump switch. [bad ECM wouldn't turn it on so I switched it.]
Problem was it kept blowing the FP fuse up front in the fender.
I tried wiring it several ways. Made no sense really.
Tried isolating the power in each direction.
Nothing would work.
Then it dawned on me. I was using one of them light up switches.
Even with the switch off it was still able to feed to ground through it blowing the fuse in about 45 sec.
Once I cut the ground wire [ don't need the switch to light up.] no more blowing the fuse no matter if that back up switch is on or off.
That info might come in handy to someone searching some day.
