Well i got about 12,000 in my car and DON'T want a POS stealing it. What system works good for our cars? I'm a complete newb at this so any info is appreciated. Also whats the common price for a decent alarm? I don't want to spend over $200 (if thats possible). Thanks guys i'm depending on you!

Its the 771XV? i think.. i got that one because i wanted remote start at the time with tpi and auto tranny, now with carb and t56 i unplugged the remote start. Since i work at best buy i got a great deal on it but it retails for 500 with basic installation included.
If you dont want remote start i would recommend the VIper 350HV http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1076628577516
Its 250 with basic installation included, but if you want trunk pop or other acc. its extra.
For a few bucks more you can get one with a two way remote, basically it beeps when you lock/unlock and warns you if it didnt lock/unlock also if you are withing range and your alarm is going off itll beep and light up.

^same remote i have
There are alot of different places where you can get it from, i like best buy because i work there and trusted them with my car when it came to that. lifetime warranty on the system AND labor.
Viper is probably one of the most popular brand names out there for alarm system.
Just my .02

Thanks for all the info! Basically i want the shock sensor, and want to lock/unlock my doors via remote so the 250 one looks good! But trusting someone to hack into my wires is a different story. Where did they mount the siren/horn thing on yours?

they mounted it by my brake booster and windshield wiper motor.
all the wiring was tucked under my dash.
That alarm system should come with a switch for the hood. If the hood is opened it should go off. Ask to have that installed, its part of the installation. I didnt know at the time so they didnt install it.
