Door Locks do not work when Headlights are On
Just as the title says, when I turn on my headlights or parking lights the Power Door locks will not work. This is a strange problem that just has popped up and is really making me scratch my head.
I was hoping someone might have some input on this weird issue.
Thanks
Kevin

What do you mean by "automatic" door locks? Does your alarm lock and unlock your car?

Ah, I'd start with the door lock relay then. There might be a grounding problem with it with lights on.
The relay is located behind the driver side kick panel.
This diagram will help you understand its workings: http://www.austinthirdgen.org/mkport...door_locks.jpg
Check the orange/black wire for power. It should be powered constantly.
But I'd suspect the THICK black wire first. I'd put a test light on it and see if it lights up with park lamps turned on. If it does, it's grounding issue and you'd need to reground the relay.
If that's not the problem, I'd check the thin black wire and the thin light blue wire. They should have power on them only when a door lock button is depressed. The park lamps should not affect these wires at all.
Let me know what you find, this is an intriguiging problem.
