Re: 1987 IROC temp gauge not working
Elaborate on "not working". Does it constantly show cold? Or constantly hot? Or sits in the middle flipping left and right to the beat of the music?
You can test this simple circuit by unplugging the sensor wire (dark green) on the driver side (sensor is in the head between first two spark plugs). The gauge should read cold.
Then put that wire on a good ground (block, bolt etc) and the gauge should read hot.
All that with the key on, of course.
If the gauge behaves correctly during the test, it's good and the sensor is likely the culprit.
Hope this helps.
